When the owners of this garden first contacted me, the space was dominated by a tumbledown garage and areas of crazy paving. The new garden has a generous raised terrace, level with the kitchen, seamlessly connecting inside and outside and providing plenty of space for al fresco entertaining. We wanted to save the lovely magnolia tree and make the far end of the garden a useable space instead of being a wasteland dominated by wild garlic - so we designed a gorgeous hardwood deck that wraps around the tree, creating the perfect spot to sit back and relax. Finally, a block paving pathway provides year round access to a large storage shed painted black to match the fences making it recede gracefully into the background.
